Our two-day program of Ephesus and Pergamon includes two most important cities of Western Anatolia from the Ancient World. The first day of the tour is based on the ancient city of Pergamon, from which the English word “parchment” is derived, which is built on four terraces perched upon a hill overlooking the Pergamon Plain. As one of the most impressive cities of the ancient world; Pergamon’s acropolis is full of temples dedicated to gods and goddesses of Greek and Roman mythology. Temple of Trajan, Zeus Altar’s site which was called “throne of Satan” in Revelation 2:13 and, the steepest theater of the ancient world is also jewelry us with a breathtaking panorama. You will also have the chance to visit the Asclepion, the healing shrine dedicated to the god of medicine Asclepius, which was the most famous healing site in the ancient world.
The second day consists of Ephesus. The Ephesus Tour from Izmir gives us a chance to visit Governmental and commercial agoras (marketplaces), Odeon (council chambers), / Bouleuterion, Latrine (ancient public toilet), Curetes Avenue, Gate of Hercules, Traianus Fountain, the Temple of Hadrianus, Library of Celsius and the grand theater of Ephesus. There is also a possibility for an optional visit to the house of the Virgin Mary which may be consulted by asking your guide. Starting to pick up all our guests from Izmir hotels or from their addresses.
Between Izmir and Selcuk, we have 1 hour ride towards Ephesus. During the ride, your guide will inform you about the country and the Ephesus region.
When we arrive to Selcuk Town, you will start to visit the ancient city of Ephesus with your guide.
After visit Ephesus, we will have a lunch break of 1 hour.
After all activities, we turn back to Izmir City. We have a drive of 1 hour for turning back and you will be transferred to your hotel.
Starting to pick up all our guests from Izmir hotels or from their addresses and the departure.
Between Izmir and Pergamon we have 1.5 hour ride towards Pergamon. During the ride, your guide will inform you about the country and the Pergamon region.
When we arrive to Bergama region, you will start to visit the ancient city of Pergamon with your guide.
After visiting Pergamon, we will have a lunch break of 1 hour.
We will turn back to Izmir with a drive of approximately 1.5 hour.
